About the Author

Senator Robert Menendez rose to become the third-highest ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives before taking office in the Senate in 2006. Most Helpful Customer Reviews

7 of 9 people found the following review helpful By Alli J. on November 3, 2009
Format: Hardcover
What an incredible man and what an amazing journey. This book does an excellent job of couching Menendez's personal rise from a tenement in Union City, NJ to the most exclusive club in the world in the greater context of Latinos as voters, families and citizens. The personal narrative holds the story together while the data and ethnographic pieces really highlight the many ways in which America is changing for the better.
