About the Author

Mattock is a freelance consultant and communications trainer and is the author of numerous business books.


Newdick is a writer specializing in interiors, gardening, and flower arranging. She regularly contributes to such magazines as County Living and Garden Inspirations.


Neil Sutherland is Professor Emeritus of the University of British Columbia's Department of Educational Studies, where he served for 37 years. He was the principal investigator of the Canadian Childhood History Project located at UBC, and has published articles, reviews and a number of books, most recently "Growing Up: Childhood in English Canada from the Great War to the Age of Television."


Founded in 1977, Whitecap Books has grown to become one of the top ten Canadian-owned book publishing and distribution companies. During the 1970s and early 1980s Whitecap made a name for itself as Canada's foremost producer of full-color gift and coffee table books on Canadian provinces, cities, and natural wonders. The company continues to publish in this area and has launched a 27-book series on Canada and 36 books in the America Series.
