Comment: This book has already been well loved by someone else and that love shows. It MIGHT have highlighting, underlining, be missing a dust jacket, or SLIGHT water damage, but over-all itâ€TMs still a good book at a great price! I thought this book was written so well. It takes a basic "these are the facts" approach. It would be very easy to have your child read on their own. It is written specifically for the 10-15 age group. I felt that the author' approach was very positive and respectful. You can tell he has dealt with this subject and talked to kids this age about this subject. He puts it in an easy way for them to understand, but not like he is talking down to them. We are going to use it and read specifically from it for our "big talk". It takes a gospel centered approach and I loved it. It is a must have, for this subject matter.

We thought we hadn't covered this information with our son and after reading the book realized we've covered it in more detail than we thought. Glad to have such a basic resource though to give to our boys to read on their own after we've discussed it with them. Thanks

This is an great book for the LDS youth. It adheres to LDS standards yet is comprehensive and easy reading. I read it with my 9yr old daughter and it was a good experience. I will read it with my son when he's old enough. It will remain in my library so they can pull it out whenever they have a question but might not want to ask me.

This book is so great for making maturation sound so normal instead of embarrassing. (The author says several times that if XYZ is happening to you, do a little cheer and say, "Yes! I'm normal!") I really appreciated his take on why pornography and masturbation should be avoided. He teaches simple concepts, like there being nothing wrong with wet dreams -- you just take your sheets to the washer and get them clean. If your mom asks, you just tell her you had a wet dream and she'll understand. I feel like having this information would make a child much less embarrassed about what is happening to his/her body. (There is a chapter specifically about boys' bodies and developments, and another chapter about girls.)

As parents we loved reviewing this book before talking things over with our two sons (who are both tweens). It made sure we had a way to put things that were not embarrassing to us or over our kids' heads. And after our "big" talk we left this book out so that they can reference it any time they want to -- we hope they do!

The first time I used this book, I got it from the library. I loved it so much that I wanted to keep it on hand for any further questions and also for my other 3 children yet to have the talk. I just sat down every night with my children when they were about 8 or 9 (wait too long and they hear about it from someone else) and read straight from the book. We paused for any questions or clarification, but basically the book took care of everything! I feel that I have an amazingly open relationship with my boys concerning this topic, which I am so grateful for. I wish I had known about this when I talked to my first child about it. It was so awkward and just a jumbled mess with her. Thank heavens I found this book for my 4 boys!

I was referred to this book many years ago for my first child. I loaned it out to someone and had to buy another copy. I found it clear and precise, enough information for any child or teenager and presented in a logical way that spoke well to my son with autism as well as my typical kids. We took a chapter a day and went through it. It helped us create a conversation base that yes, was embarrassing but not nearly as bad as one would imagine. He covered the topics we needed and really helped this mom understand a boy's perspective on a few things that even my husband didn't talk about. I would highly recommend it. Whenever we have a little embarrassing moment now we've chosen his little catch phrase...boy I'm glad my body is working how it's supposed to.

I cannot say enough about this book and how helpful it has been with our two teens. We are just preparing to read it with our twelve year old, but it could be used as early as 10 or 11. (Certainly if they are in a public school setting!) It breaks everything down into easily understood concepts and covers things you might never think about discussing with your child - but should.

If you are squeamish about discussing "birds and bees" with your child - this will absolutely walk you through it and if you are a confident educator and do not mind having the discussion (I fall into this catagory) it helps you present the information in an easily understood format.

I like how it gives you the perspective of how we are created for a glorious purpose and our body is an absolute gift.

After I had the birds and bees talk with my daughter, I wanted her to have a reference book to get questions answered in the future. My friend who has older children said she always gave this book to her teens after the talk and they appreciated it.
