5.0 out of 5 stars Wild!
I was introduced to this book during a research project in 10th grade. I read one chapter and was hooked. Rubin brings interesting topics into view including: happiness, love, sexuality, etc. His writing is very open and comfortable. Even though the book was written decades ago, it still applies to many generations. After reading it, I felt much more comfortable with...

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty Good Stuff
If anyone was wondering what the activists of the sixties did when the movement dried up, this book will give you a clue. Jerry got deep into EST, meditation and alot of the other new age scenes that seemed to run rampant back then. This book describes Jerry's discovery of life after the sixties. Pretty hoaky in parts, and odd too. But it will fill in any questions...

But it will fill in any questions you had about how he went from 60's "Yippie!" to 90's softdrink mogul...

Rubin brings interesting topics into view including: happiness, love, sexuality, etc. His writing is very open and comfortable. Even though the book was written decades ago, it still applies to many generations. After reading it, I felt much more comfortable with people and different ways of thinking. It has been a year since I read "Growing (up) at 37," and I still can say I feel better about myself and the world after reading this book. I strongly recommend this book to anyone searching themselves for answers.

5.0 out of 5 stars The New Revolution, October 12, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Growing Up at Thirty-Seven (Hardcover)
This is both an interesting and visionary work. Jerry Rubin takes us through his journey -nothing held back!- from his focus on concern for others, and thus his attempt to change the outer political/social/economic reality in our country, to his focus on the inner changes that must take place in himself and others before the political/social/economic reality can change. The new ground for revolution, he claims, is inner and nothing in the outer world is going to change until we change ourselves. The inner beast must be tamed before the outer beast can be tamed. My hat is off to you Jerry! As usual, you were a social visionary extraordinaire! How we miss you!
