5.0 out of 5 stars Growing and Using Stevia
Growing and Using Stevia by Jeffrey Goettemoeller & Karen Lucke is an excellent guide for the Stevia beginner and also for the Stevia user. It gives you the "Why" and the "How to" - plus converting recipes using Stevia to replace sugar. This book is well written, documented and is simple and easy for the novice to understand. I recommend this informative little Stevia...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good information, but you might want to just buy your stevia
This really was a great book, but the stevia I grew turned out to be too bitter to use in any of the recipes in this book. It was a fun experiment, but raising the plants from seed, drying the leaves, and powdering them turned out to be a waste of time because the green powder was inedible.

5.0 out of 5 stars RATES A 10, November 20, 2008
This review is from: Growing and Using Stevia: The Sweet Leaf from Garden to Table with 35 Recipes (Paperback)
THIS IS 1 OF THE BEST STEVIA BOOKS I HAVE READ. IT IS VERY INFORMATIVE. PLUS, THE BONUS OF THIS BOOK IS ALL THE PHOTOGRAPHS. SEEING AS THIS PLANT IS HARD TO FIND, IT'S GREAT TO SEE WHAT IT SHOULD LOOK LIKE. I DON'T HAVE A GREEN THUMB, BUT THIS BOOK MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU TO FAIL ON GROWING STEVIA. GET THIS BOOK, IT'S ONE OF THE BEST. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT

5.0 out of 5 stars Full of useful information, December 29, 2010
This review is from: Growing and Using Stevia: The Sweet Leaf from Garden to Table with 35 Recipes (Paperback)
The value of the book is its direct and to the point. With Stevia being in the news so much, I have been interested in growing my own plants to make my own stevia powder to use in place of sugar. And this book also has some decent recipes for everything from use as a tea, to use in baked goods and even with hot cereal. The book Growing Stevia for Market is a must read for anyone interested in selling the product either for others to grow from cuttings to a finished product for use in the kitchen.

I've just ordered a Stevia plant from Territorial Seed Co. and I'm very excited about exploring Stevia's culture and uses.
I love Jeffery's growing and culture info.
The recipes look great, but I'm disappointed that he did not include nutritional information.
I ordered another book by Rita DePuydt(also from Amazon!) which does have nutritional info, so now I'm set!

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely helpful, September 27, 2008
This review is from: Growing and Using Stevia: The Sweet Leaf from Garden to Table with 35 Recipes (Paperback)
Have tried several of the recipes and "tips" provided. Excellent results.
Main thing is to remember that all it takes is a "itsy-bit"

1.0 out of 5 stars I expected a book--instead it was a skimpy littlw paperback., February 10, 2009
This review is from: Growing and Using Stevia: The Sweet Leaf from Garden to Table with 35 Recipes (Paperback)
It was small and difficult to read, with small illustrations. I expected a BOOK, not a little paperback. It has good info but I was disappointed.
