HU-16 Albatross book review,

This review is from: Grumman Hu-16 Albatross (Naval Fighters Series No 11) (Consign) (Paperback)
I build aircraft & armor models and always looking for a good reference book. As to reference on the HU-16, there's good news/bad news. For reference there's the In Action book by Squadron which is okay for markings, but lacking a lot on detail photos. There's a VERY OLD magazine called Replica In Scale which did an article on the aircraft with markings and some drawings of the cockpit, interior, etc. along with an article on how to build the 1/72nd scale Monogram kit. I have both of these items, then bought this book and glad I did because with just this book alone, I don't need any other reference. Book is filled with photos of HU-16's in service, PLUS all the information on the interior of the aircraft, the number of antanaes/
wiring for them, landing gear, etc. The modeling portion of the book also mentions the Replica In Scale article. |
