Excellent, very useful during power outages.
1 minute of cranking = 1hour + of listening! The reception is also very good.

at home and in the car. This is a big one. E-Power on hand, at hand, that will charge essential communication equipment, offer light and most importantly the news and any alerts in effect. Does anyone from California remember Loma Prieta? Do you remember how incredibly unprepared most people were? In our apartment complex at the time, one, (1), family had a radio, no kidding.
Buy it, and hope you never have to use it. By all means thoroughly familiarize yourself with it. Not a bad idea annually. I've owned one of these since they became more commercially available and solid, vs. new on the market and junk or novelty. I did buy a basic 9V radio the first chance I had after the earth quake business settled a bit. I also, for the first time in my life (I was maybe just 22 or 23)realized that having and maintaining an emergency survival/disaster kit is simply a necessity, nothing to argue about, just make sure you have one (e-kit, the car too) and everything is checked regularly. Believe me, I could see my 50 bucks buying a lot of other things!!! None of which would be worth a dime in an emergency. We are simply "up-grading" to the cell charging model ... BIG day in this household!!!

It works great for the function it is intended. AM & FM works great but it is a little deaf for SW. Cranking it up for power is an excellent choice when not having AA batteries at hand.

I do not own this radio, but bought 2 of them as gifts for family members. When I visited the recipient of one of them, they wanted me to see the radio. I was kind of embarrased by it actually. The thing is way too light and cheap feeling. Does it work? Yes. Is the tuning accurate? Not really... the dial type tuner is hard to see the exact station you are trying to find. Would I buy another of the same brand? Not likely.
