I took the risk on getting these because they are cute even though didn't quite understand how the mic was detachable.
Turns out, the earbud part is only about 12 inches long but it plugs into the mic which is part of a longer cord and this longer cord is what plugs into your device. I use it with my blackberry and I've been told my voice sounds really clear. There is a clip that holds the mic close enough to my face, depending on what I clip it on of course.
I've used these for about 2 weeks and love them!
The reasons I didn't give it a 5 star is because, just now, one of the metal monkey plates came off of the plastic bud part. Nothing a little crazy glue didn't fix. Viola.
2nd reason: perhaps I'm a bit rough with mine because I take them where ever I go and I end up just throwing them in my purse. They end up getting tangled of course. My beef however is with the material used to wrap the wires.
I once owned a pair of buds that were made of a material that was tangle resistant. Meaning, it just slid off of itself if you gave it a few tugs. Yes this makes me bias but I find that these monkey buds tend to tangle up a bit more than other pairs I've had. Maybe its due to the heaviness in the buds themselves (the monkeys are made of metal) or the monkeys get in the way because of their shape, or the 2 piece cord deal.
Anyway, I do recommend them because I trust that maybe you are a little more gentle with your stuff than I am. Who knows.

Amazing sound quality and the iPhone jack makes these earbuds worthwhile. I'm a fan of the monkey design but beyond that the bass in these earbuds is AMAZING. A must buy for monkey enthusiasts. Try this brand out, they really are amazing earbuds.

There really neat to look at I get looks while wearing these everywhere I go. Although the Monkey thing did come off within a week, but I just hot glued it back on, no biggie for me but I can imagine the quality work for it.
Sound:
It's great I love the base that is associated with it, it hits hard a deep. Have not really had any problems with sound so far after 2 weeks use. The sound deadening is nice, when I am in the library and have the music playing the lowest I can't hear anyone around me.
The Microphone is great I use it to record some lectures in my class when I am not feeling well. And the playback is clear enough that I can understand it.
Overall pretty happy with the product, I wanted something decorative and more portable than my skull candies that I have at the house. Although I do not even know how to register the product for warranty because the website is down, grungebuds.com or at least it brings me to a car page. And the atomic9 web page does not show anywhere where I can register the product, or if it does it is very difficult to find. I doubt I will be able to use warranty on the product because of this though. I like them.
