It is difficult to put into words how helpful Emile Gruppe's insights are. A wonderful artist, he really helps you to SEE color and their relationships. I borrowed three of his books from the library and it breaks the heart to give them back. I wish I could afford to buy them and have them in my library, truly worth every penny. I include his book on color, brushstroke, and oil painting. I renewed them until I had to take them back. I believe I still owed a fine for lateness.

One of the high points in the Watson-Guptill catalog and, sadly, pretty tough to find. Green cloth with gold details over boards; 144 pp; designed by the Anning. Color and b&w images throughout, including many full-page reproductions.
