Although its hard to tell the difference on clean records, but it made a big difference on dusty old records. I have treated over 500 records with this product now.

I wish I could have written the date on my amazing can of Gruv Glide because it has lasted me YEARS! For years before I used all kinds of products, mostly alcohol based, which ended up excessively drying up and staining my precious vinyl. When I first read about what GG actually DOES I was already sold, BUT I had to do the test myself. I have a very good ear, so I played a USED LP that needed treatment and REALLY listened to the the first few seconds, over & over, memorizing all the dust & scratches the needle was picking up. I also listened to the treble, bass, & vocals. THEN I wiped GG on. UN...REAL. The vinyl was, for the first time, since it was pressed into it's glorious mold, ALIVE! The LP was CLEAN, the highs were CRISP, I could actually hear the bass player plucking each string! There's a naysayer on here who said GG made it worse. He or she said the scratches & pops were more pronounced. Of COURSE they were! All the dust was gone! Dust makes your vinyl sound muddy. GG does not make your vinyl's damage disappear. Nothing will EVER do that. What it does is truly clean and add a super fine protective coating, or new skin (if you will) over and INTO the grooves, to reduce noise. Therefore, the needle now easily slides through each groove, picking up and enhancing the fidelity. This also protects your needles for YEARS! If $30 can do this for you precious vinyl for several years is the price NOT worth it? Think, my friends. Do your own test, like me! Oh, and GG, I would like a check in the mail for writing the best review on here. Thanks, GG! You saved my vinyl!!!

I have used, and continue to use several expensive record cleaners and preservative products. And I strongly belive in vacuum record cleaning machines. That said, Gruv-Glide is an excellent product that improves the sound and the physical appearance of each record. It moves the rating upward a notch --- from say a VG+ to a Mint-. All the while you can feel that the stylus is actually moving through the vinyl with less upset and less drag. I was badly mistaken for not trying this product sooner, and I do appreciate what the manufacturer has accomplished. Sure, I would rather not pay $30 a can --- but I must admit it is well worth it for the benefits received. And no - I don't have any relationship with the product maker. Bill

This is great stuff for your vinyl records! It does exactly what is advertised except for cleaning. Best treatment I've ever used on my records. It does come with two round application pads and complete instructions. You only use a very small amount for each record so it does last for over 100 record applications. You do need to clean your records very thoroughly before applying the GruGlide. This is not designed as a cleaning agent even tho the instructions state it cleans your records. It is for protection and anti-static uses which makes your records sound much better. The "Product Description" on Amazon's site says, "It is designed to clean the vinyl surface without damaging it, improve fidelity and removes static." It does improve fidelity and remove static but it is NOT a cleaner. Maybe Gruv-Glide gets away with saying it cleans by the way it "cleans" up the music sounds which is very true. If you have records that are dirty take my advice and clean them with a cleaning agent first before using the Gru-Glide then you will truly see the magic of this product.

I have used this product for a few years now, which is how long my first can of it lasted. I am here to purchase a "refill" and have found it does a great job cleaning records and improving the quality of audio playback from them. I also have a very expensive VPI vacuum record cleaner, but it is larger than my record player. Gruv Glide works just as well as the VPI cleaner and doesn't need a large parking spot on my entertainment center to use it. I highly recommend Gruv Glide to any one whom enjoys listening to their record collection.

I have been using Gruv Glide for over 20 years now. I'm still doing vinyl, I love my records and always hit goodwill and by records for ridiculously low prices. Gruv Glide completely gets rid of the static that attracts dust and makes the records sound better. I get about 200 record treatments per kit so even at the price of $39.00 it still is very low cost per record. The secret to using it is not putting too much on the applicator pads. My records also look like new after the treatment. Good stuff! One of those classic products.

I thought a long time before ordering this product. I had my doubts but I figured that a product that's been around for over 40 years can't be a total fraud. Well I've used it now for two months on about 50 to 60 records so I'm ready to give my opinion.

I didn't think this product would work well as a cleaner so I kept to my normal cleaning routine of giving my LPs a good wet wash and then dig the micro-dust out of the groves with my carbon-fibre brush. Then I treat them with the Grov-Glide product. As per the instructions I apply it sparingly but thoroughly. When I was done I noticed that the record looked cleaner and had a shiny luster so I guess it does do some cleaning. the records also seems to have less static so both those product claims are true.

When I play the records, these are the results: 1) The record sounds better with less hissing and popping than with washing alone. 2) There is also a noticeable improvement in the fidelity and clarity of the sound. 3) The stylus looks cleaner (I use a 60X microscope to check it) and it stays cleaner longer so I guess that longer life for the records and stylus must also be true.

Bottom line is that: I'm not crazy about the price but Gruv-Glide works so I'll be purchasing a refill when my can runs out. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys listening to LP Records and wants to protect their record collection and keep them sounding good.
