Although its hard to tell the difference on clean records, but it made a big difference on dusty old records. I have treated over 500 records with this product now.

I have used, and continue to use several expensive record cleaners and preservative products. And I strongly belive in vacuum record cleaning machines. That said, Gruv-Glide is an excellent product that improves the sound and the physical appearance of each record. It moves the rating upward a notch --- from say a VG+ to a Mint-. All the while you can feel that the stylus is actually moving through the vinyl with less upset and less drag. I was badly mistaken for not trying this product sooner, and I do appreciate what the manufacturer has accomplished. Sure, I would rather not pay $30 a can --- but I must admit it is well worth it for the benefits received. And no - I don't have any relationship with the product maker. Bill

I treated all my vinyl. I use every recording on Serato records to make sure the pick-up is 100% accurate. No down side to this product! It blows away the standard cleaning tools we are all used to using by far. A side note: it does not leave an oily coating or anything after treating a record. It just leaves a fully refurbished record with less pops and NO static on my slip covers anymore! Love it!

Essential for vinyl collectors and djs. I use this stuff on every record. That said, at the time I'm writing this review the listed price is outrageous. You can easily find it for $25-30 a can.

This product works very well for cleaning dirty vinyl records. The liquid solution really clean the pits and grooves from years of contaminated dust, soil and hardened whatever that was living in the records. However it is easier to clean a 12" than a 45rpm due to the finer grooves. Be fragile while cleaning with those velvet pads, make sure you don't use force to apply with the tip of your finger nails while trying to clean, because it will mark right through and WILL leave a permanent scuff mark on the vinyl surface and you'll be playing a clean record with scuffed distorted sound (because of the minor damage). I also spray it to a cotton ball and use it to clean CDs and DVDs which works very, very well.

I have used this product for a few years now, which is how long my first can of it lasted. I am here to purchase a "refill" and have found it does a great job cleaning records and improving the quality of audio playback from them. I also have a very expensive VPI vacuum record cleaner, but it is larger than my record player. Gruv Glide works just as well as the VPI cleaner and doesn't need a large parking spot on my entertainment center to use it. I highly recommend Gruv Glide to any one whom enjoys listening to their record collection.

I wish I could have written the date on my amazing can of Gruv Glide because it has lasted me YEARS! For years before I used all kinds of products, mostly alcohol based, which ended up excessively drying up and staining my precious vinyl. When I first read about what GG actually DOES I was already sold, BUT I had to do the test myself. I have a very good ear, so I played a USED LP that needed treatment and REALLY listened to the the first few seconds, over & over, memorizing all the dust & scratches the needle was picking up. I also listened to the treble, bass, & vocals. THEN I wiped GG on. UN...REAL. The vinyl was, for the first time, since it was pressed into it's glorious mold, ALIVE! The LP was CLEAN, the highs were CRISP, I could actually hear the bass player plucking each string! There's a naysayer on here who said GG made it worse. He or she said the scratches & pops were more pronounced. Of COURSE they were! All the dust was gone! Dust makes your vinyl sound muddy. GG does not make your vinyl's damage disappear. Nothing will EVER do that. What it does is truly clean and add a super fine protective coating, or new skin (if you will) over and INTO the grooves, to reduce noise. Therefore, the needle now easily slides through each groove, picking up and enhancing the fidelity. This also protects your needles for YEARS! If $30 can do this for you precious vinyl for several years is the price NOT worth it? Think, my friends. Do your own test, like me! stuff does wonders. I've been converting my Grandmas old records. Many haven't been played since the 60's. They've been stored at my finishing shop and had collected mounds of dust. Applied Gruveglide and it works like a charm. A must have for any vinyl enthusiast.

So far with limited use on records 30 plus years old, and on DVDs that kept tripping up on smudges and scratches in the middle of watching them - it has worked great! We were almost going to throw a few DVDs and records away, but now are not due to how Gruv Glide II cleaned them up. Thanks!
