5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Mixer
I've purchased two of these mixers and am happy to see them on Amazon for this great price. I have used this mixer and amp for my son's band and for small DJ gigs for over two years. I've used it to power 15" or 12" mains, and it puts out decent sound for 200 watts/channel. Don't expect to do a large venue without another amp. I haven't had any problems at all with the...

1.0 out of 5 stars Great little Amp/Mixer - for 5 gigs....
Just picked one of these up and used it for a gig over the weekend. First off, I've used Peavey Powered Mixers up until this point and was going to get another, but at $499.00 for the Peavey I decided to give this one a try. 5.0 out of 5 stars Great Little Mixer, May 31, 2010

I haven't had any problems at all with the units. This powered mixer works great for practice in small rooms because there is no fan, hence no fan noise. There is a little hum through the speakers when there is no sound going through the mixer. For this reason, I keep the volume for the individual channels at a fairly low level, and turn up the volumes of the individual input channels. Don't expect a lot from the effects, but you can get a decent echo or reverb. I would buy another one of these in a heartbeat. It is comparable to powered mixers I've used that cost two to five times the price. So if you don't care about having a name brand and obviously these are made in China, for the price it's the best deal around.

This is going to be my road amp for the forseable future. Some may rate it low for the plastic case, cheap feel, etc... I will say that for this price, and for its performace it's a good find...take a chance...you'll probably be as surpised as I am. Let's see if it holds up for a year or two. See follow-up on 6/20/2011.

I did a lot of research in getting this item. We bought in order to expand our karaoke system, it does the job and plenty more. We connected an electroacoustic guitar and it sounded excellent !!!
We hooked our mixer with a pair of Pyle speakers mounted on stands with livewire cables and our neighbors though we had a party going on....
Pros:
Price: is it a very afordable item.
Not to bulky, you may carry for your parties with no hassle.
You may connect up to 8 mics, you usually can't get equipment at this price with this capability. (get good cables in order to get a good sound, try to avoid 1/4 connections, go with XLR connections or you will get a lower output from the mic).
600 watts, you may connect up to 4 speakers, 2 left and 2 right channel. Again : usually for this price you can't get equipment to connect more than 2 speakers directly to the mixer.
You may connect an MP3 player with the purchase of a RCA adaptors to the RCA play inputs.
Has a left and right main volume.
Has low, mid and high volume for each mic input.
Packing: very well protected, so no damage at all even it travel a lot.

Cons:
The manual, it so lame and does not provide more information that I would like to read about, I had to do my own research.
I can't find other con, but if I get one I'll update.

5.0 out of 5 stars Another satisfied customer!, January 17, 2011
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Gtd-Audio 2 x 300Watt 8 Channel Audio Powered Mixer
Greetings, been playing for money since 1966, just turned 60, I am in 2 acts now..a jazz trio and a jugband. Yeah, I know...this unit should have everything you need to produce a professional sound. The jazz trio has a female singer and a stand up bass player, do you think they want to lug heavy equipt? My guess is this unit weighs about 15lbs!!! Even she carries it!! And 8 channels is plenty for everything we do, and being true stereo, I run the mains on the left out and monitors on the right out. It doesn't get any simpler. The pan control adjusts the signal strength to either. It may not be maximum individual control, but it works great for us! As for effects, really, how many sounds do you need. Reverb and delays are more than adequate. And 14 more efeects as well! If your one of those guys that got to have every last available sample out, then go pay for it.

This unit will pull a night, (smaller venues for sure) quite comfortably. If your work is mainly AC/DC etc, this unit does not have an 11 on the volume knob. The manual claims it has 800 watts output, I do question that. That would be 400 watts RMS, split between right and left or 200 watts RMS, is how I figure they got to that total. That may be abit much, but not much though.

4.0 out of 5 stars low cost pa head with 8 xlrs, January 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Gtd-Audio 2 x 300Watt 8 Channel Audio Powered Mixer
This is not the best pa head in the world but lordy it only costs less than a couple of hundred bucks.
It is light, it works, the sound thru my 2- 15 inch spks and 2 monitors is clear enough to practice a band and hear
yourself over the drummer. You can do small venues with it and not have a problem. It is good for the value.
However I have not had it out other than in practicing sessions I do see that a small venue of 30 to 50 people could
be done with it. Don't expect it to do a 200 to 400 person show 500 watts ...actually less than that ... it wouldn't cut it.
Good luck and don't be afraid of buying it for practice or small venues. Actually I did use it for a small watering hole gig
with 4 members of our band and it worked fine for 50 people that were in that establishment that night.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Deal, July 2, 2010

I work six nights a week and I bought this as a backup for the band's Mackie mixer amp. What a pleasant surprise it is.

It is a true stereo amplifier with pan controls for each of the eight channels. I don't believe for one minute that it is 400 watts but it has all the power needed for a small to medium venue if you are using it only for vocals. It has 16 DSP effects settings that sound fine to me. I use almost no vocal effects so I can't really judge this.

I work solo one night a week and for a test I used the GTD with two EV speakers. It ran my vocals, electric guitar (fronted with a Roland Microcube) and the sequencer. That's a heavy load because I use a lot of bass. The sound started to get muddy when another guitarist (with a separate amp) joined me and I cranked the volume up. I backed off the bass a bit and it was fine.

This amp is perfect for the practice room, for garage bands and as a backup PA head. It is a wonderful first PA. You cannot buy another PA mixer amp with these features without laying out $200 to $300 more. At the price you can't afford not to have one.

Purchased the BM-8900 and they shipped the BM-9100 ( which has a fan in the unit). From what I have read the BM-8900 ( at comments/questions on ebay) had overheat issues and I gather the fan will correct that. This amp works wonderful, the manual has no useful user info, I couldnt find the preset 16 effects listing anywhere. Tried to contact gtd audio to ask about this but no reply. I did however pull a picture of the BM 9200 which had the effects preprinted onto the amp and wrote them down so at least I have a starting point.
The amp works very well has plenty of power the effects, imputs and all the above are great. The fan is very noisy which truthfully I dont have an issue with since I do believe this will help prevent the amp from the overheat issues .
Plenty of bang for the buck and worth the money.

Read some reviews that were a little negative about this product but I bought it anyway. It was a pleasant surprise to me that none of the negatives that were written about this product were true in the product I bought. I have a four piece band and the GTD fits our needs perfectly. I would recommend this product to anyone that has a small band.

What can I say. For the price, this is a great product. I am very pleased with its performance, and the sound quality is as good as a power mixer costing much more!
