For those of you who like the Beach Boys harmony and prefer the balad style songs instead of the surf/rod variety, this is an incredible collection. The first 11 tunes are OK, if you like songs about cars, but starting with "Sandy" this collection becomes a great BeachBoyesque tribute. "Ronny" even admits, in the liner notes, that they were always trying to imitate the Beach Boys. Take "If I Had My Way" and put it on Pet Sounds, take "When Stars Shine Bright" and add it to SMiLE, and add "Goodbye Baby" too. "I'll Think of Summer" would fit right in to any earlier BB album. Yeah, there are some geeky lyrics in there, but hey, they were young and in love. I'm NOT saying this music is anywhere near Brian Wilson, but the sound is incredibly close. "Ronny" caught plenty of the California spirit in Nashville. If you like the old summer ballads with a bunch of white boys singing really high, tight harmony, check out this collection.

If you're a fan of the Califormia music craze of the sixties, then you shouldn't be without this CD in your collection. This group is one of many who made it big during the decade although the scene was dominated by the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean. Of course, their greatest hit "Little GTO" is included here along with the mellow and touching "Sandy"; along with other selections both old and new fans will appreciate upon listening.

5.0 out of 5 stars superb 60's surf band, May 16, 1998

The Love songs included in the cd are just excellent renditions of the group. I hope some new artists of today like the Backstreet Boys may have time to review it. This is an excellent suggestion to have the gap filled from the 60's to the 90's.

The only disappointment I have is to ask - Where is the song "Baby Say No"?

Sit, relax and enjoy the cd.
