My father was in Guam late in 1945, so the Guam's Liberation DVD afforded us an opportunity to look past the edge of the airbase, past the mechanical and historical aspects of the B-29s, to the cultural and historical context of the islanders themselves, their experiences under Japanese occupation, and the transition from occupation to liberation. We have never seen most of the images in this DVD. I highly recommend it, not only to Pacific vets, but to their families as well.
