I have not heard the CD because it is out of stock. But I had the chance to listen the music and see the show at New York City. I must say it is one of the most incredible experiences I have ever been involved, because that is exactly what happens with this music, it really makes you a part of it. The music is such powerful that it can make you cry or laugh just by listening to it. As soon as you put it in your CD player, you will be transported to a whole new world, full of magic and feelings. And strange or not, the elements that composes the music are as old as human beings. Essentials are taken to the extreme, that's why it seems it is a whole new sensation. I strongly recommend this CD for those people who like to feel, for those people who like to experience a magic journey with music.

I've had this CD for over a decade now and it's freaking phenomenal. It's still in heavy rotation. The music is haunting at times, but can be very relaxing, too. I know this sounds cheesy, but some of the tracks make great ring tones. I cannot believe how much money people are trying to charge for the CD, though I understand why, I guess. Not really, but whatever. I found mine for less that $10 at a used record store in Tucson, AZ back in 1998 after seeing De la Guarda on MTV Latino in 1996. Then, when I happened to be in New York when they were performing, I had the amazing opportunity to see them perform live. Again, I still love it, so if you're the kind of fool willing to pony up that much money for some music, I'd say it's worth it. And if you'd still like to see them live, Fuerza Bruta is a performance currently in New York that was created by the same choreographers and seems to have a similar feel.

I absolutley LOVED this show and I would give anything to get a copy or two of this soundtrack. I wish they didnt have to leave NY. I hope they come back to Union Square. I saw the show in Sept 2004 with my boyfriend and he loved every minute of it. To see his eyes light up like a little kid was truly a memorable moment. Not to mention the show was an experience I shall never forget. AWESOME! 2 Thumbs up!

De La Guarda went on to conquer the world with their brandy of party music, drum beats, and bouncing Argentinians on bungie cords. This is how it all started.

Their 1996 CD shows their talents while not being the all out non-stop party that their later work became. This is, in places, much more of a thoughtful work. It is a little more raw, and a little more experimental.

The show at the time was called Puerdo Villa Villa, their modern (2005) show is Villa Villa. The difference here, like with the names, is minimal, and you still get an incredible ride. Tracks like the party of <strong>Fiesta China</strong> and the wonderfully dreamlike <strong>Papel</strong> (the show opener) show a diverse range, while still holding a common theme. Visceral tracks like <strong>Maracana</strong> are the memorable ones, but it is the slower tracks that will hold you to this album.

With enough drum beats to stimulate, percussion that makes you want to stamp your feet, and tracks that just let you bliss out. De La Guarda's debut album and show is something special.

Once you see they you'll never see a performance in the same light, and once you hear the album you'll be back there, in the dark, wet and wild, listening to people fly above your head.

Recomended for anyone who loves tribal sounds, ambient music, and recomended to everyone who has seen them live. An excellent additionto any CD collection, and a sure talking point.

I have not listened to the CD by the time of this review, but as a witness of the amazing show they had in New York, I'm giving a lot of credit to it. The music was an important part of the show - main character I'd say - so I just can't help to strongly recommend it to any music lover, it will make you rush, it will lead you through thoughts you never had, it will make you richer than you were before. I just got my copy and I know I will enjoy it a lot.
An advice? Go check LA GUARDIA web site...

if you want a cd go check out the show. i saw it in NY and it was absolutely fantastic. lots of creative imagery and audio along with an interactive cast. completely fun and i would attend again but with less inhabitions. grab the cd the music is captivating.. im hopin to go see the DJ show..

I have a friend that plays in the show. He does all of the percussion and most of the vocals. He is up on the second level of the play. I saw it in New York City and i had to see the show...I am sad to say that the show is now over in New York, this is a very sad thing. I would have loved to go and see it again.
