Steiger has been writing books on the paranormal for 30 years, in the course of which he has gathered many curious tales of tragedies averted and discoveries made with the help of discarnate entities. Many of the three dozen accounts related here involve apparitions of deceased family members who come back to warn of life-threatening danger. I found this book while on vacation last year on Martha's Vineyard. I found it a thoughtful handling of an interesting subject. It's very inspiring and, since I believe in guardian angels, a good read.

I feel my guardian angel was with me on the way home from my trip. I left the book on top of my suitcase by a chair in a bus station and went over to the snack bar a few feet away. Suddenly something made me look back. A suspicious looking young man with a jacket over his arm (on a hot July afternoon) was seated by my suitcase. I quickly went back to pick up the book and suitcase before he ran off with it. I feel my guardian angel told me to look back at that moment. Have written to the author about that experience.
