Nice case for my mandolin!,
This review is from: Guardian Cases CG-020-MA Acoustic Guitar Case (Electronics)
I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was one nice mandolin case. For the price, I expected a rather flimsy chip board-type case. Man was I wrong! This case is quite substantial, providing ample protection for my mandolin. The inside is luxuriously plush, complete with a compartment for picks, tuning pipe, etc. The external hardware is high quality and the overall construction is top-notch. This case is way nicer than the plastic-shelled hard case I have for my violin. I suspect it is at least as good or better than some of the other more expensive mandolin cases out there. I was especially glad that it lacked the strong glue smell present in the SKB hard case I bought for my wife's guitar. We have had that case for a year and it still smells. I can whole-heartedly recommend the Musician's Friend Hardshell A-Style Mandolin Case!

I have six of these cases and would give it a six star rating if that were available. It fits all of my A style acoustic mandolins and offers superb protection. I did have a very slight amount of trouble with the locking latch on one case but it locks okay once I opened it with one of the keys provided. Hint: make sure you put at least one key on a key ring and not in the case even if you never plan to lock the thing.
This is a great buy--especially when I think of the chipboard case my very first mandolin which I bought back in the seventies came in.

For about $30, this is well worth it. I had a mandolin for abotu a month without the case, and it was constantly getting out of tune, and beat up. Now it's great all the time with this case. If you have a mandolin, whether it's a inexpensive $65 one that i have or a $8,000 one, it's more than worth it.

I purchased this for an A style mandolin that is a teardrop shape. Its fits nicely. It is well built, and quality made. The lining is plush. Very nice. There is no glue smell to speak of, and so was not an issue. Shipping was fast, and it was well packed. I would buy another one!

Bought this to go with a A-style mandolin I bought for my girlfriend's upcoming birthday. The mandolin fits in there perfectly. There's also a little compartment, underneath where the neck lies on, where you can store your picks and a tuner in. It also comes with 2 keys for the locking latch. Another reviewer mentioned that the handle is kinda awkward, I do agree with that but it's not a deal breaker. I'm not a musician and I've never purchased or used a case before, but I feel that the instrument is sufficiently protected inside the case and for $40, you can't go wrong.

Although my mandolin is A-style, this case is too small and I could barely close it! I wish they would give some specifications in the description of this item, like the inside width, length, etc so the customer knows if the instrument can fit in or not...

The case is fine if you just need something for you to put your mandolin in, but the handle is so ridiculously uncomfortable when carrying the mandolin because the weight is so extremely unbalanced.

Once I figured out that you have to make sure everything is lined up before you try to close the lid I got to like this case.It is sturdy and strong enough to protect my Mandolin much better than the soft cases that sell for about the same price. For less than $50 It was a great purchase.
