I never thought I'd be one of those owners who bought a muzzle for their CAT, but I'd exhausted every option and still couldn't find a way to clip our boy cat's nails without him trying to take off my fingers (or my nose). So I gave in and bought this muzzle. The first time we used it, he stayed completely still, and I had his nails clipped in under a minute! He was fine and I was so relieved.

I definitely recommend this for cat owners in need, and it's also good to know I have this on hand if I ever need to handle an injured or upset cat.

My cat goes nuts when he gets shaved at the groomers, but his hair is so long it has to be done. He was freaking out and I put the muzzle on him. He tried to get it off a little bit, but he calmed right down. It stayed on great! Love this product!

We were unable to get the terrible matting out of our long haired 16 yr old cat. She doesn't like it, but this allows us to hold her gently, without her biting, to do many more minutes of cutting out the matting. When removed, she just sits there, so I don't think it is too traumatic for her.

I got this muzzle for my tomcat in hopes that it would make him docile enough to let me clip his claws. It smelled kind of weird when I got it, so I got the idea to seal it up in a bag full of catnip for a couple weeks before putting it on my cat, which I had hoped would put him more at ease.

When I put it on him, he continually growled and stayed tense and tried to run away from me. I petted him and spoke soothingly to him, but to no avail. I ended up taking it off and letting him go. I'll try again, in hopes that maybe he'll get used to it.

On the other side, my female cat, who is docile enough to not need a hood or other aids for claw clipping, loves it. She plays with it and lays on it every chance she gets (probably due to the catnip).

Given as a gift, user says cat is much more relaxed wearing cat muzzle while being grooming. She also reported no more kitty biting during brushing!

I purchased this muzzle in order to clip my cats nails without being bitten or scratched. I was a bit hesitant to order it, in fear that my cat would absolutely flip out once it was on his head, but since the price was low enough I took a chance. My cat remained completely still when I put the muzzle on - no squirming, no fussing - he was a statue. I was able to clip his nails in under five minutes. All cats are different so it may not work as well for you, but in my case it was well worth the price.

How this product calms my cat is remarkable. It is more of a hood, and having it on my Maine Coon's face allows me to brush her for several minutes before she tries to claw me.

Very slight hesitation from my cat when it was put on. She didn't claw or struggle. I have to agree with the other posters that it almost calmed her when it's time for grooming. My cat is very small for her age, and the large just about fits, so i would definitely recommend this size for all cats! Great product!!!
