2nd Best RPG on Playstation,

Besides Final Fantasy 7, this is one of the best RPG's I have played on Playstation. It's encaptivating for everyone. I'm 17, but I find this to be one of my favorite games to play. It keeps the strategy of an RPG with an underrated performance of gameplay. The story starts off quickly, so there isn't very much interruption, and things just gain from there. New weapons, armor, etc. Highly Recommended to those new at RPG's or those who just want to have a fun time.

I've had a hard time finding any truly clean role playing games at all for my son on psx. Even some of the cute cartoony looking ones rated E for Everyone(6&up)like Threads of Fate have adult language at least. I mean I live in the real world, but let's allow kids to play some kid's games sometimes. Guardian's Crusade is huge fun, it is easy enough for the little guy, and it's got to be the cleanest rpg for psx or ps one in terms of content. I got one as fast as I could, since Amazon was the only place I could find it. Meanwhile maybe it's time for a gamecube...

With a pink pig as one of the main characters, and only being able to summon "toys" rather than dragons or GF's, you may be under the impression this is not a game for the genuine RPG fan. However, do not let these facts protract from what is an enjoyable, entertaining, light-hearted RPG, which can become strangely addictive. The plot is kept simple and straightforward, the battle action is the usual turn based affair and the world is quite large and easily accessable. The toys are picked up throughout the game, and can be used to attack, defend, heal and generally cause havoc to all, much like magic. One of the innovative ideas in this game is that you can actually see how powerful a random enemy is before you go into battle: If you want the cowards way out, you can run away without entering into the battle scene, likewise if you are foolhardy, you can travel around only pitting your skills against the nastier opponents. With all this said, this game is no FF or Xenogears which have great storylines and character interraction, but dont let this put you off, this game is definitely worth a try!

the best game in the world,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Guardian's Crusade (Video Game)
this is the best game i have ever played in my whole life, and this is saying somthing coming from someone who has compleated(and i mean every single item including excalabur2 on ff9) all of the final fantasy games including anthology, tactics, chocbo racing, origins, and 7,8,9. The whole game is light hearted and non-complex giving you a break from the imposibly complex games such as FF and LOD. it draws you in and forces its way into your heart, with its touching story line. so i recomend this game to those of you who have finished ff and lod and want a relief from the conventional games TRY THIS!!!

This is a good game for people who are unfamiliar with RPG's but I still play it a lot. I may have beaten all of my other RPG's including FF7 and FF8. I'm a RPG freak but i still like this game.

Yeah it's cutsie, but what do you expect for a game with a little pink, pig lookin thing on the front. Despite this though it's really fun to play. In fact I've played it about three times. One feature (and the reason I couldn't stop playing ) are the living toys. These magical helpful little friends are a great addition to the game. There are over 70 toys, some helpful and some useless but all worth collecting( I still haven't found them all). The gameplay is slow in the beginning and baby runs from everything, but as you get stronger so does he (and so does his magic) and he becomes a great ally on your journey. It is a short one so play this in between a more serious RPG.

Perhaps I am a little bit biased...for this game holds a nostalgic place in my heart. It is the first RPG I ever picked up and decided to play...but besides that, I think I have a few things to say that may help you decide if this game is for you.
The premis is that the hero Knight finds a baby creature out in the wilderness and is instructed by spiritual forces to protect it and bring it to its mother. As the game evolves, the ordinary hero finds himself wrapped up in an apocalyptic struggle brought on by destiny. It is a classic battle of good verses evil. Instead of conventional magic in battle there are strange animated toys, each with unique powers, that must be sought after to aid the hero in his quest. For the jaded, experienced RPG-player who demands perfect graphics and a complicated storyline full of disturbing undertones...this little game will not suit you. But when I played this I played it with an open mind, and was delighted. It is a brightly-colored, simplistic yet lovable game with heart. If only the young can appreciate it then power to them. As for the young at heart, this game is good for them too.

Gaurdian's Crusade is an overlooked title. I enjoyed this game from start to finish very much. The battle system is simplistic, you attack, you can use little toys in battle that are basically your summons. You can ride various creatures on the field map to get to places faster.
One of the best parts about this game is that it is very large. I love an rpg that has towns, and lots of them. Gaurdians Crusade has a lot of towns and you are free to explore every building in every town as you please. The only thing about this game that isn't perfect is the graphics, the environments look a bit blocky and the faces are unfinished but graphics have never been the sole reason for a games greatness. Gaurdians Crusade gets a 4/5, 8/10 in my book.

This little-known RPG really doesn't have much going for it, yet it captured my heart. Objectively, the graphics are simplistic, the character development is nil, and the story is not complex at all. The difficulty level is set to extremely easy. Strangely, I really enjoyed this game. The easiness of it keeps it fun; and it's short, so you'll finish before you grow tired of it. Despite the fact that this game cannot really be called "an RPG great" or anything like that, I still got plenty of enjoyment out of it.
Graphics (score 7/10): Ouch. Those are some very simple character designs. Your protagonist looks like a lego-man with a round head. Even the environments are simple-looking, with many of them featuring a blocky appearance. Still, the graphics are crisp and bright- and totally tolerable, at least to me. Music (score 7/10): Well, it's not memorable at all. But, I didn't find any of it so unbearable that I had to hit mute. The sound effects can become annoying after awhile (such as when your character Baby "barks"). Overall, though, I have no complaints here. Characters (score 6/10): Your main character (Knight) has no personality. I don't think he even speaks directly (you know, the old silent protagonist thing). Baby, Knight's animal companion, doesn't have much personality either (though to be fair, it doesn't speak either because it's an animal; how much personality could it have?). The real star of the show here is Knight's fairy companion, who is just full of dialogue. She's really the one with the snappy, amusing comments that keep things interesting. Story (5/10): The story is about the most mediocre you can possibly get. Knight finds a small baby creature (hence the name "Baby") outside his town and decides to bring it back to it's mother. Naturally, they get caught up in defeating a world-threatening evil along the way. This story really is a bare-bones sort of RPG story with little nuance at all. Strangely, though, for the jaded RPG veteran like myself I actually found the story rather charming in it's simplicity. Battle System (score 9/10): The battle system is a very simple turn-based system. I love turn-based games though, so I have no complaints here. The battles also include the ability to summon little "living toys" into battle with you. These function like extra party members during battle. Good thing, too, since you don't have any other party members except Baby and Knight. This helps add variety to battles. Gameplay (score 8/10): This is a bit of a catch-all category for me. First, let me say that the difficulty of this game is pretty much nil. It's the easiness of the game that in some ways makes it appealing to me. After enjoying so many other challenging RPG's it's nice to play this game as a sort of "vacation", so to speak. The storyline would never justify playing this game if it were very difficult, but since it is so easy, I can just kick back and relax while playing. Another thing of note is that there are no loading times when entering/exiting towns and dungeons. In fact, so far as I can tell, there are hardly no loading times at all. YES!!! Overall (score 7/10): NOTE this score is not an average, it's my subjective overall score. I really liked this game, but others might not. If you don't go into it expecting another FF7 you should be fine. I realize it won't appeal to most RPG veterans, and that's fine. However, it's pretty cheap now (got mine in a game store for $5 brand new), and for $5, I really got good value for my money. I wouldn't recommend paying $50 for this, but if you can get it for under $20, then by all means, try it out.

This is a great game, even though it might be for younger RPG fans. This was my first RPG, but at the time I didn't have a memory card, so I tried playing this over and over again. The farthest I got was to the gigantic bird in the cave, and I got past that too, a little bit. Although, since I was pretty young, and without a memory card, I was not allowed to play it for a long time. I loved this game, but now I am 17. My sister had accidently broken the game disc, sadly. I would get the copy that is $9.90, but I would rather get it for $38 or more to get it brand new and with a booklet and everything. So what if you played most of the final fantasy games, and maybe the Phantasy Star Online games. When I get this I'm going to beat it so easily its going to be so awesome! So if you want to play a game that is quick and fun, you feel like a kid for some reason, pick this up and play it! I don't really know if this review was helpful or not, but this was what I wanted to say. ^^
