Must Read for Goalie Fans!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Guardians: The Secret Life of Goalies (Paperback)
I've been a fan more and more of goaltenders and wondered how they handle the stresses of their position. This book answered that question and many more as it really showed the mind and people who are behind that mask. Interesting superstitions, ritual, and some things that surprised me, are all in this book. If you love goaltenders or are fascinated by them in any way and want to know that they truly do opperate differently then the rest of the team, this is the book for you.

Good profiles of goalies and history,

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Guardians: The Secret Life of Goalies (Paperback)
The book was published in 1999 so some of the goalies have retired, but the information about goalies and the history of goaltending are still a worthwhile read. Good photos as well, easy-to-read format. I bought it for my high-school age son & he likes it!

A Simpleton's Primer,
By Hallauthor "Tom A" (Illinois) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Guardians: The Secret Life of Goalies (Paperback)
If the author intended to create a book for pre-adolescents, he did a good job. This book is useless for anyone else. Go buy A Breed Apart which is visually and textually superior to this simplistic look at sports' most challenging position.
