Almost Fantastic,
By Book Girl (Austin, TX USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Welsh Edition) (Hardcover)
I had been waiting impatiently for the last installment of the Guardians of Time trilogy. For the most part, I was not disappointed by the book when it was published.
It's a suspenseful book, full of plot twists and unexpected turns of events. The narrators for the story are Matt and Rochelle, who are still dealing from the fallout of Rochelle's treachery and later entry into the Guard. We learn a lot about who Matt and Rochelle are, what makes them work, and how they handle mistakes that have been made and the possibility of a grim future. I recommend this book to you with one minor caveat. If you're expecting a firm resolution and a tight ending to the trilogy, you will not get. The book just ENDS. I turned the page because I was sure that that just couldn't be it, but it was. That's the reason why I rate it four, not five, stars.

BEST. BOOK. EVER!!!,
By Rain Song "A reader/writer/actress/singer" (boring old small town) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Welsh Edition) (Hardcover)
In this book, told by Matt and Rochelle, you will be swept into the double lives of the Named in a thrilling conclusion of the trilogy. Filled with action, adventure, plot twists, and love, Marianne Curley always finds a way to bring her characters so comepletely to life that you feel you know them. I was unable to put the book down. I loved the Named and the Dark, but the Key was the best of the trilogy (though it was VERY close!!) This book (all three of them in fact) were so amazing. They made me bored with reality. Marianne Curley is my hero and role model, and I hope they make this trilogy into a movie! I guve it five stars, although it would be nice if Marianne Curley would write one more book at least for the Guardians of Time, just because I miss the characters so much.

Marianne Curley is the best!,
By I love Arkarian (in my own little corner) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Welsh Edition) (Hardcover)
Marianne Curley is one of my favorite authors of all time, and for the most part she did not dissapoint with this book. I say for the most part because I agree with other reviewers about how suprised I was that the book just ended. I would have liked at least another paragraph or so, just to tie things off a little nicer.
I love the depth and intracacy of the characters in this series, and how in each book their relationships with each other get more complicated and we learn more about them. Marianne Curley has a way of making these characters real. I love Arkarian. He is the best fictional character ever. 5 stars. I can hardly wait to see what this author comes out with next. She just keeps getting better.

i love this book!,
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Welsh Edition) (Hardcover)
By some very wierd quirk of fate, i bought the book before it came out and it wasn't from amazon.co.uk (where everyone can, since it came out in feb)
Anyway, i love the book. The point of views are of Matt and Rochelle. There are so many twists in the storyline. It answers many questions that i, at least, had. The ending didn't fail my expectations, but left me wondering What happens next. That's my only complaint, which isn't a very big one. I hope Marianne Curley writes more books. She's a wonderful author

UNBELIEVABLE . . . !!!,
By
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Paperback)
. . . And I mean that in both a positive and negative way.
So you've read The Named and The Dark and you're waiting for more? And you're wondering if this book is just as good? Let me tell you : It's better and worse. It's amazing. It's more dense. There's more romance involved. Written in Rochelle and Matt's perspective, it lets insight on the once 2-dimensional characters. The characters become more real. More captivating. Each character has his/her own flaws and problems, which make them more real and believable. The story more suspensful and intruiging. You'll be guessing till the end who the traitor is and you'll never get it. It's that good. So what's so wrong with it? It ends. Pun intended.

Great... kind of...,
By Nathan Roberts "nate" (Irvine, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Welsh Edition) (Hardcover)
This series had the potential to be an epic fantacy series... like Tolkien and J. K. Rowling. The first book really graduatly brought out the story masterly. A wonderful book, and I would give it 5 stars. But the problems start with the second book. Honestly, it is an amazing story on its own- but..... it's part of a trilogy, and it honestly seems to forget that. Therefore, since the story has moved barely since the first, the last book has to go head-over-heals. This battle is fortold in the prophecy (and if you don't know what i'm talking about, just trust me) is described as "a long and bitter war" But everything comes catapulting at high speed, speed so high the reader can barely catch it. Now, trust me. In some types of books it works(i.e. Michael Crichton and Dan Browne thrillers)- but in this book it just had too many loose ends to tie up and about half the time it needed to do it properly. So, what's my point? The point is this: Frodo still had to travel across Mordor, Aslan had to be killed before he could come to life. And this book takes what could be intriguing plot, battle sequences, and dialog, and ramms them into this last instalment.
And one last thing: the end of the story. Don't wory, I won't spoil it- but ones who read the first two could probably guess it ends in tragedy. I have no problem with tragedy and I guess the author perfered it to wham you- to make you double over with the impact of the story. But, honestly, it just made me sick. So... should you read it? If you had read the other two, you really have no choice: Read it. But if you want to start the whole series I give you my warning: It is quite a thrill of a read, but I forewarn you that it is likely you could be as unsatisfied as I am.

I really loved the first two books, but was disappointed in this one. I'm not sorry that I finished the series, but wish it had ended differently.

Beautiful and Sad,
This review is from: The Key (Guardians of Time) (Paperback)
** SOME SPOILERS**
Oh I love this book. It is beautifully written as the conclusion of the Guardians of Time trilogy. There was some romance, tons of time travel, many surprises, and shockers. The end was so very sad I cried the first time I read it, even though we knew it was going to happen. . . . Poor poor Ethan. I love all the characters in this book. I feel like I know them very well, Ethan, Arkarian, Rochelle, Matt, and Isabel. A must read.
