Interesting and well done,

I got this book as both an ABC book and as an informational book for my Guatemalan-born kids. Overall, I find it interesting and well done.
The thing that keeps me from giving it 5-stars is that it gives phonetic spellings for words like "Hola" and "tortilla" but not "Kinich Ahau" or "Tikal". That would have been helpful! It is written for an older child, but we will use it as an ABC book until the kids can read it themselves.

I absolutely think you should have this book as part of your collection. The pictures come to life along with the description. The wording is simple and sweet. I am a first grade teacher and taught using this book. All my students enjoyed the memory this book brings to life. Vivid pictures and colors are an absolute gift from the artist.

introduce your children to Guatemala!,
This review is from: Guatemala ABCs: A Book About the People And Places of Guatemala (Country Abcs) (Library Binding)
As a mother to 5 Guatemalan children we found this book a great way to introduce children to Guatemala. Simple format and illustrations provided a good starting point for further talks about our children's culture and history.

Bite Size Facts from Guatemala,

This review is from: Guatemala ABCs: A Book About the People and Places of Guatemala (Country ABCs) (Paperback)
My three year old daughter, adopted from Guatemala, loved this book. It offers bite size pieces of information about the country in a fun way. She even brought it to her preschool on her show and tell day.

We love it for our 3yo and 8yo,
This review is from: Guatemala ABCs: A Book About the People And Places of Guatemala (Country Abcs) (Library Binding)
The pictures really tell the story of Guatemala - the fast facts you think of first when thinking about Guatemala. We think its perfect for the younger age group, but it would also work with children a bit older. Our 3yo who was recently adopted from Guatemala loves this book along with the Guatemala Q&A book. They go well together. Our 8 yo loves to read this book to her sister. So, they both learn and remember Guatemala.

Colorful book with some interesting information about Guatemala. This is an intermediate book, not really for older readers and not an "ABC" book that you would show a toddler. I plan to show it to my youngest when he is 4 or so. The drawing are good but not great.
The information is a bit superficial and the "Fast facts" are an odd addition. The "fast fact" info should just be part of the text; I don't know why they are "fast".

Good, but not what I expected.,
This review is from: Guatemala ABCs: A Book About the People And Places of Guatemala (Country Abcs) (Library Binding)
From the title and cover of this book, one might think the book is for kids 2-7, but it's actually aimed at older kids. Other than that, the book is still satisfying, delivering fun, fast facts in an easily digestible format. Very informative.

My 7 year old daughter loved this book. She went out to visit relatives with her dad after spending 2 weeks in Guatemala with the book, and she took the book with her to show them.
