Gucci Marina Chain Collection
The Marina Chain, a traditional Gucci symbol adorning accessories and jewelry, is a collection of stylish timepieces featuring the iconic anchor chain sign. With its rounded links, this unmistakable signature punctuates the smooth bracelet, embracing the oval case and finishing with a clasp shaped like a leather belt buckle.
The Marina Chain: A Gucci Icon
Guccio Gucci opened a leather goods workshop and a small luggage store in his hometown, Florence. Within a few years, the label enjoyed considerable success, as it attracted a sophisticated international clientele fond of the collection of bags, trunks, and accessories that were inspired by the refined aesthetics of nobility, including the equestrian world, and the world of sailing. The Marina Chain motif was inspired in the 1960s by the world of yachting, one of the favorite pastimes of the Florentine clientele of Guccio Gucci.
Models and Versions
The Marina Chain watch, introduced at the 2009 Spring Summer Gucci Women’s Cruise fashion show, is available in two sizes and a rich choice of materials: steel, steel and ceramic, and steel and leather. Sparkling diamonds can also elegantly adorn the black lacquered or white mother of pearl dial, the case or the bangle. Distinctive and modern, the new Marina Chain collection aptly illustrates Frida Giannini’s unique flair for reinventing classic Gucci luxury for today.

An iconic Italian fashion trendsetter, the House of Gucci - better known just as Gucci - is renowned for its tradition of luxury and constant quest for style and quality. It was founded in 1921 by Guccio Gucci when he opened a leather goods company and small luggage store in his home of Florence, Italy. Within a few years, the Gucci label attracted a sophisticated international clientele who sought out its equestrian-inspired collection of bags, trunks, gloves, shoes, and belts. By the 1960s, Gucci products became icons when worn by such fashion icons as Jackie Kennedy (who carried a shoulder bag that today takes her name, Jackie O), Liz Taylor, and Grace Kelly. Artistically combining the elegance of Italian design with the precision of Swiss horological craftsmanship, every Gucci timepiece represents watchmaking at its finest. From the inception of the watch to the finished piece, Gucci demands commitment to the highest standards, attention to detail, and exacting quality control. Today's Gucci watches are made of the most durable materials, while design is focused on modernity - combining classic watch styles with contemporary lines and flourishes in order to make a mark of this time for years to come.
