First off I ordered White. These are most definitely glowing blue.

They work. One string worked after 48 hours of charging. Strangely the other one didn't . But after a couple of sunny days they both now shine brightly at night for several hours.

So they work as expected. Simple decorative lights. They are not bright enough to cast any light on a walkway though.

Bought these lights about 3 weeks ago. Well made, durable and well worth the price. Found this to be the best price out there. Quality is top notch and the lights on my patio area look awesome at night. Love the solar quality. You won't be disappointed.

These are my favorite little outdoor lights. They have a very light blue white tint. The lights last about eight hours.

Gudcraft is using two different lights. One has a single battery and the other has three batteries. Do not buy these lights unless you see eleven solar cells. This is the kind with three batteries. The item with four panels has one battery. This is probably creating the confusion in the reviews.

Pros: This is our first string of solar lights, and we love them because they don't require any plugging into anything. (Our power outlet is located on the side of the house. If we used traditional lights we would have to use an extension cord that crosses in front of the front door.) The color when lit is exactly like the photo -- sort of a blue-white.

Cons: The string was shorter than expected (I had no idea what 100 lights meant in terms of covering our front hedge). Also, the lights are pretty expensive for such a short length, but we'll probably end up buying another one anyway because we like the idea of solar.

Added note on 12/5/10: The lights do not stay on as long as expected. Even after a sunny day with direct sunlight, the lights stay on no more than five to six hours. This is fine with us, however, because we usually turn off our lights when we go to bed to conserve energy anyway.

First, I should note that we live in northwest Texas and get a lot of sun --- so our results may not be typical for someone in, say Seattle.

These solar string lights are great. We placed the panel directly under the tree that the lights are wrapped around (its the only place we can guarantee the dogs won't knock it over) and even though it doesn't get direct sun much of the day, these little lights light well and last into the wee hours of the morning.

Please remember when ordering that these are solar powered and LED lights. They are not as brilliant as your standard plug-in light strings. And, as one should expect given they are LEDs, they have a typical bluish tinge to them. But, for solar lights, these are delightful!

The reviews here gave me some concerns, but I wanted lights for my tiny back patio so badly and I don't have an outlet back there. The sunniest part of the patio gets only about 5 hours of sun a day, but that has been adequate. I've had them up for several weeks now and l love when I look out back and the tiny little lights are glowing--they stay lit well until after I've gone to sleep.

My one disappointment was that I was misled by the term "35-foot". I imagined that the solar panel would be on one end, and then there would be 35 feet of string. This is not the case. The solar panel has a few feet of unlit wire, and then the wire splits to two separate strands of lights. So basically the solar panel is in the middle the lights. This made my original decorating scheme unfeasible, but I was able to make do.

So far these lights have worked well. Even when we have not had much sunlight they seem to work for a little while anyway. They are on a free standing artificial tree on our front porch. The tree was blown over in the blizzard we had on the day after Christmas. I was delighted to see that they still worked once I cleaned the snow off of the solar collector. They emit a very pleasant bright blue light visible from quite a distance.

I was able to find additional solar light strings locally at a lower price. But all in all these lights are not a bad deal. I plan to string them around our pergola for the summer.
