I read this book, here in Brazil.I bought this book, in Argentina this week.This book has 14 chapters and is dedicated to war of Malvinas/Falklands, in 1982.The main problem of this book is to be pro-Argentina.This problem is found on every page of this book.
There's some (black & white)maps on this book.Also some (black & white)photos.
Argentina lost that war, but the argentinians weren't so bad at war, as the iraquis were, in 1991.In fact, England lost more militaries at this war, than all anti-Iraq forces, in 1991 war.
There's a page(412) on 14 chapter(Conclusiones e reflexiones) with the results of anti-aircraft weapons used by England.This is the last chapter of this book.
The best anti-aircraft weapons used by England, was the Sidewinder missile.With 68 missiles used, against 17 aircrafts downed.A total rate of sucess of 25%;and this was the best anti-aircraft weapon used, in that war.Anti-aircrafts missiles used by Argentina were far worse.
The famous american missile Stinger downed just 1 aircraft, against 40 used.A sucess of just 2.5%.Hello Bin Laden! Your old stingers, donated by Ronald Reagan, in 1980 decade, can be useless!
England's naval anti-aircraft artillery downed just 3 argentinians aircraft.With 2,500 shoots for just one argentinian aircraft downed.
Rapier missile got 4% of sucess.Sea Dart missile got 7.8% rate of sucess.In fact, any SAM used by England or Argentina got, even 9% of sucess in that war.Second to Sidewinder missile, came the Commando's action in a Island, with 10 Argentina's aircraft destroyed.
Even so biased, this book remains usefull and is mainly correct.
