Once upon a time, men (mostly) went to the same place for fifty or so years and received a paycheck every other week. At the end of that, he received a nice watch, a pension, and a hearty handshake. Today the working world is one of stress, frustration and most of all uncertainty. If you'd like to take control of your destiny, this is the place to start.

Although a late addition to the Guerrilla Marketing series, this book is the place to start thinking about starting your own business. While being an "entrepreneur" isn't for everyone, this book helps the reader realize it's for most people. Early on the author tackles the misconceptions and fears that employees considering starting a business face. Primarily this is easier than you think and is safer and more reliable than relying on your employer to shape and control your career.

This book generally assumes that you are unhappy at your current job ("escape your job") and are looking for a change. If you have no interest in leaving your current job or are out of work, this book won't have as much value. If you've already made the leap either part-time or full-time into your own venture, this book will give you guidance to optimize your time and investment. Seasoned business owners like myself will still have value because everyone on occasion needs a refresher course and to reexamine their core principles.

All aspects of starting a successful business are covered, not just marketing. Practical issues of how to moonlight while at your current job as well as when and how to leave your current employer is covered. Valuable questionnaires and worksheets in each chapter keep your on track and accountable for your goals. What type of business do you want to start? How will you find support?

Very informative and well structured
I enjoyed this book: its price is a deal. You have a complete review of strategies that can be implemented. It requires thinking and work to implement these. It can't be done overnight to my mind. However, you don't need to have lots of money or even time to apply the concepts. You can go step by step. Everything is clearly explained. All you need to have is determination.
With this book, you have LOTS of information.
Even if you have no desire of being an entrepreneur, it is very instructive about what is going on on the market right now.

The book seemed to go on and on about what others had done but not give a lot of practical real life advice. It seemed to be geared towards hyped motivation without a lot of practical easy to implement advice.
