"The most directly applicable, start-tomorrow, creatively inspiring book I've ever seen on promoting your music!"
-Derek Sivers, founder of CD Baby

"Applying many of Bob's ideas, and without any wholesaling or distribution, I sold more than 20,000 albums of my music over the last five years. Using his suggestions, I increased my fan base by 35% in just one year. Pretty good for a non-performing artist who does all studio work. Bob is the master of music marketing!"
-Kris Lee-Scott, Hanai Music

"I bought Bob's Guerrilla book, and in less than two months I've done more to energize the promotion of my new CD, and previous three CDs, than I've done in the past four years combined. Bob really got me going. More than that, his book crow-barred a self-convinced 'I hate promotion' guy out of his stubborn old habits and into enthusiasm -- which is no small feat!"
-Dan Oakenhead, musician, Boulder, Colorado

5.0 out of 5 stars Make music money honestly and ethically, DIY style June 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
DIY marketing for music, though the advice is valid for any field. Do it yourself, honestly, ethically, effectively, and guilt-free. You don't have to be a dirty rotten sleazy capitalist pig to market music (or anything else) and make money. Bob shows you how to do it. I met Bob when he was a guest speaker at a songwriting convention I attended. His advice was good then, and here it is in an ebook. The fact that I read his book and am writing a review is testament to how good he is at getting people to act. Saving my pennies so I can get the rest of the book.

Bob's book and approaches to music marketing give you step by step methods for taking your understanding and efforts to the next level. I've seen bloggers comment that as a musician in today's climate, you should read everything by Bob. I've followed this advice and have been glad I did! This book and material are the core of Bob's approach to getting your music out to your fans. After taking Bob's master course, I knew I must invest in this book. It's a tremendous value and will give you direction and focus for helping make your dreams come true!

5.0 out of 5 stars He always over-delivers. Many gems found here. June 15, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
How does a part time songwriter/musician like myself find time to promote his music? For those of us with a full time day job, there's precious little time left for gigging and rehearsing, much less for booking and promoting (and for me, that includes a lot of research and learning how to promote effectively).

That's where Bob's books have been a godsend. I used to scour the internet, looking for trustworthy tools (for things like building a web site, selling mp3s, reaching [and building] my audience, all on a budget). It was all pretty overwhelming. I spent a lot of time searching and trying to evaluate the solutions out there. And it seemed there were more of them every day.

Now I let Bob do the research. He finds what works and reports back in his books and blog. He gives us real world examples of techniques that have worked and frees us up to make more music. In his books, there are so many creative ideas to choose from. Even one or two would be well worth the cost of the book. Not all ideas will work for all situations, so it's simply a matter of finding ones that fit your situation, adapting them to your own specifications and putting them into practice.

Now I no longer scour the internet in frustration. Instead I follow the guidelines and suggestions in Bob Baker's books, videos, emails and blog posts. It saves me a lot of time and it works for my band, Soulpajamas.

Disclaimer: I met Bob a couple of times at music conferences and he's a great guy. But long before that I followed his blog and read many of his articles and books.

There are many "self-proclaimed" experts in the new music industry. Bob Baker is not one of these, he is an ACTUAL expert and a voice that should be listened to carefully. Read what Bob has to say about music marketing and your career WILL benefit.

5.0 out of 5 stars You No Longer Have to Avoid Marketing Your Music! June 17, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I don't know Bob Baker personally, but since I'm also a certified Guerilla Marketing Coach, I live in St. Louis, and have been a professional musician for all of my adult life, I've been a fan and an "interested observer" for a couple years now. On to the review.
It doesn't matter if your career is just getting started, you're trying to get to the next level, or if you out of marketing and promotion ideas, you owe it to yourself to buy this book. Bob's writing style and clear, easy to follow steps make buying this book a no brainier. It's full of solid, Guerilla marketing based advice, presented in a way that anyone can understand. What I liked is that there's no overwhelming, you have to do everything right now preaching. There are ideas on every page that will have you nodding your head in agreement and thinking "I can do that."
My advice then is to buy the book, join his mailing list, download the free worksheets that are included, and watch your music career grow.
