This review is from: Guerrilla Warfare in Civil War Missouri, 1862 (Hardcover)
This book as well as Bruce Nichols 1863 Guerrilla Warfare in Missouri is the best examination I've found to date on the subject. Divided into the 4 seasons, and each season divided in to four quadrants if Missouri Mr. Nichols provides not only easy reading, but a great research tool. Most Civil War buffs either begin or end with a specific region or area of interest. If you're interested in well researched and documented information on Guerrilla (Bushwhackers, partisan's) warfare in Missouri, both of Mr. Nichols books are a must have. People and locations as well as communities are indexed so specifics about a person or area can easily be located. I highly recommend this book as well as Mr. Nichols other treatise (covering 1863 Guerrilla Warfar in Missour).
