About the Author
Peter Norton's name is internationally synonymous with PC expertise. His group has created a best-selling suite of utilities that includes the Norton Utilities, Norton Anti-Virus, Norton Desktop, and Norton pcANYWHERE. Some of these technologies have been incorporated into Windows 95 system tools. Among his titles published with SAMS are Complete Guide to DOS 6.22, Inside the PC, & Complete Guide to Access 97 Programming. Virginia Andersen is a free-lance writer and consultant who has developed several information management systems for government agencies and engineering companies over the past 13 years, using many versions of Access, dBASE and Paradox database applications. Some of these actual databases serve as models for the cases illustrated in the book. She has written or contributed to over 25 computer books, 15 of which were devoted to database management applications. She was the co-author of Peter Norton's Complete Guide to Access 97 Programming.

A good book but not for the beginners,

I think its first part ( I mean chapters 1,2,3 ) is not good for someone who is beginning using Access! Perhaps it was better to start this book with some additional chapters about introducing Databases . The second problem is that you should be familiar with VB programming , to understand this book materials! I think this book is a very good guide but before reading ,you should study some elementary Access 2000 books ,like teach yourself Access 2000 in 24 ours. by the way this book is a nice guide for programmers (like me)who want to start using Access 2000 , and have good background in database programming.

It's OK but it's not a good reference book,

I'm a programmer and I had do some VBA programming in Access so I thought that I'd buy a book to learn what the difference between VB and VBA is... This book didn't help. But I suppose it would be good for somebody that knows Access but doesn't know how to program.
