I have hiked the entire trail using this book. Now I believe there is an updated version coming out soon with inclusions of the new sections from Wakely to Stephens Pond. So wait for that one at this point. The authors are not my favorite, but they do do a good job explaining what you'll see and how long it will take you. They have experience with the trail and it shows.

This entire series of books is the best out there. If you're looking to hike around the ADKs, than this series of books is the best thing you can own. My only complaint is that the maps that are included with these books are kind of second-rate. They are black and white and a bit on the small side. The trail descriptions are fantastic, if you stay current with the series, and the "packability" of these books is awesome too!
