About the Author
Rushing is a 10th generation Southern gardener. He is a leading Extension Service consumer horticulturist in Mississippi and has two degrees from Mississippi State University and the Louisiana State University Landscape School of the South. He coordinates Master Gardeners in the state's capitol.

This is really just a list of the different vegetables that can be grown in Alabama.There really isn't a whole lot in the book that I haven't seen in other, better written tomes that I already own. I was hoping for something a lot more region specific that what this is. Would be okay for someone who knows absolutely nothing aoubt gardening, but anyone with any kind of experience is not going to find much new here.

I have read this book from cover to cover twice. I am a novice gardener, and I learned so much from the information provided. I grew only cucumbers and tomatoes in my backyard last summer. Very successful!
