5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding Book, April 22, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought this book before I went to Rome and gave it a quick read before traveling. It was fabulous. I spent a day and half hiking the aquaducts both within and in the suburbs of Rome. The guide not only provided detailed information about the history and workings of the aquaducts, it also provided advice as to which sections were accessible and how to reach them by public transit. This book was my key to a wonderful experience in Rome.

5.0 out of 5 stars Guide to the Aqueducts of Ancient Rome, October 21, 2010
An irreplaceable item for those who love Rome and its history, as well as those who appreciate the engineering expertise of the Roman people. Authoritative and eminently readable, it is a treasure for both history buffs and those in search of an engaging description of the wonders of modern Rome. Read this before your first trip to Rome and seek out the remnants of this magnificent system.
