Book Description

June 22, 2009
We have a clear command from Scripture to take care of the poor within our circle of influence. This book presents the many principles found in Scripture to guide this process and even to qualify who the poor are. This book is multi-faceted and can be used by churches as a reference book to establish or improve their benevolent ministries and to help prevent being scammed; used by individuals to assess how they should address benevolent needs within their own family circle; and used by individuals and groups in the study of benevolence and financial counseling principles.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY A BOOK THAT GIVES BIBLICAL DIRECTION FOR HELPING THOSE WHO ARE IN NEED!, June 22, 2010

This review is from: Guide To Benevolence Giving For Church And Family: Helping The Needy - God's Way (Paperback)
Rod O'Neil's excellent book, "Guide to Benevolence Giving for Church and Family" fills a niche that has been empty for far too long. It is a comprehensive look at Biblical principles for helping the needy--why we must give, whom to give to and, even, whom not to give to. It covers the priority of family, friends, agencies and church in giving aid--not just a handout but real aid that helps the receiver get on his feet and become a giver. As a bookstore manager I heard the response of my customers who said it was the very thing they needed to both set up and manage a ministry to help both those inside and outside the church. It has been invaluable in my own work heading up the benevolence ministry at my church. I commend it to all--families, individuals and church bodies--who have a heart for helping those less fortunate. The Treasure Principle: Unlocking the Secret of Joyful Giving (LifeChange Books)The Total Money Makeover: A Proven Plan for Financial Fitness
