4.0 out of 5 stars GRINSPOON ROCK
Grinspoon are 1 of my favorite bands. I got this CD when I was holidaying in the U.S. And it kicks ass. It may not have "Just Ace" but there are alot of other great songs. I would recomend this album to every American who likes alternative or Rock music. So buy this CD now!

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars pretty good
Grinspoon are one of the better bands to come out of Australia in the 90s.

I'll just give a brief summary of some of my favourite songs from the album, "Guide To Better Living".

"Sickfest" is track four on the album. It's one of my favourite songs. It's one of the earlier Grinspoon songs but it is still, in my mind, one of their best songs...

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Aussie Rock Album Ever, January 25, 2005
This review is from: Guide to Better Living (Audio CD)
If you like Helmet, Primus, Godsmack, Snot, Korn and such, get this CD ASAP. You will not waste a cent. "Post Enebriated Anxiety" is definitely following the roots of Helmet and White Zombie. "More Than You Are" is a great punk-metal anthem to listen along with, but my favorite is "Repeat", in which the tune sounds a lot like Snot's and Helmet's offspring. "Black Friday" is also a good song. A definite must-have for any post-grunge or alternative metal fan.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nitrous Oxide for the soul!!!, July 25, 2001

This CD rocks! This group of hardcore Aussies light a fire, with some of the hardest rocking, and consistently fastest music I have ever heard. Most of these songs clock in at under 3 minutes and make your blood boil. Songs like 'Postenebriatedanxiety', 'Black Friday', 'Dead Cat X3', 'More Than You Are', 'Railrider' and 'Pedestrian' will get you speeding ticket after speeding ticket. There is one song on here that is a slower groover but it still really rocks, 'Bad Funk Stripe'; check it out.

From song to song, there isn't a lot of variation or originality. But, with killer riffs and breakneck speeds on 2 1/2 minute songs; WHO CARES?!? You've got barely enough time to think about it before the next song comes on.

If you dig some hardcore punk tunes, I highly recommend this CD to curb your cravings.

5.0 out of 5 stars The greatest CD in the world!, March 6, 2000
This review is from: Guide to Better Living (Audio CD)
GRINSPOON ROCK! Grinspoon is easily my favourite CD, and this is the better of the two CD's (the other ones good too). It's great value for money with 16 great songs (and maybe a limited edition bonus disc with 5 live tracks) and they are all good.

Some of the GREAT songs include Repeat, Pedestrian, Just Ace and Boundry.

Grinspoon are my alltime favourite band and they really rock. I bought this CD about 3 years ago and it is still my favourite CD. Just buy it! NOW!

5.0 out of 5 stars Cant wait for the Sophmore, December 26, 1999

I like these guys so much you may never understand. Most of the songs are not very long as far as minutes go, but every song starts out rockin' and pulls you in immediately. They put more in a 3 minute song than most bands can fit into 5 minute tunes. These guys absolutely rock and if you dont buy this then you are missing out greatly. No words can explain what I'm trying to get accross. Lets just say that guitars have never sounded soo awsome. Best songs are: Dead Cat X 3, Bad Funk Stripe, More Than You Are, and Champion. The fun doesnt end there. Please buy this so they can afford to keep their musical jobs.

4.0 out of 5 stars Remember that band, Helmet?, August 5, 1999

"Guide" definately is a damn fine album. If you dig Helmet, Unsane, or Quicksand, this is in the same vein, although distinguishable.

If you like music hard, loud, noisy, fast, and dig that drop-d guitar, then this is an easy pick up. Get it now, dammit!

5.0 out of 5 stars Grinspoon, November 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Guide to Better Living (Audio CD)
Grinspoon Rock. I have this album and I have heard about their new album that comes out in november '99 and it sounds great! Phil Jamieson is a bit of a gun singer for a skip, and the guitarists are pretty mad too.

A fan who thinks grundge rocks.

I would like to get their new album.
