This review is from: A Guide Book of United States Coins 2011: The Official Red Book (Guide Book of United States Coins (Spiral)) (Spiral-bound)
The official Red Book is and has always been the most up to date and accurate collection of retail prices for all U.S. coins. It covers every U.S. coinage ever made including gold coins, commemoratives, tokens, bullion coins, proof and mint sets. This is the only book you'll need to put a retail value to your collection.

This book is the definitive coin book each and every year. Does not give currency information or foreign coin info, but for US coins it is simply the best.

A Fantastic Resource For Information, But...,
This review is from: A Guide Book of United States Coins 2011: The Official Red Book (Guide Book of U.S. Coins: The Official Redbook) (Hardcover)
The 2011 Red Book once again blows away all expectations! It is the industry standard for both beginning and experienced collectors. Now in it's 63rd addition, this year's Red Book added special sections for the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cents, the 2011 Presidential Dollar designs, and the new America The Beautiful Quarter program. There are also extended informational reviews on U.S. Private Issue tokens and colonial coinage.
The only issue with the Red Book is the annual nature. Unfortunately, most pricing is already obsolete due to a fast moving precious metals market. Overall however, the Red Book is definitely the best resource on the market for overall numismatic information.

The guide book is one of those things that you buy before making a coin purchase. Best way to know what you are buying. A note on Amazon.com: Two days after placing my order, I was reading the email that my item had shipped. That is when the doorbell rang and the book was there. Way to Go, Amazon staff!

THE COIN COLLECTER'S '"MUST HAVE" REFERENCE,

This review is from: A Guide Book of United States Coins 2011: The Official Red Book (Guide Book of United States Coins (Spiral)) (Spiral-bound)
The Red Book is a collection of quick bits of history, illustrations, & price guides of U.S. coins. The saying goes "Read The Book" before you "Buy The Coin". This simple phrase has answered the myriad variables that go into numismatics. Considering how many coins that have been minted it's nice to have a ready resource. It has helped me many times deciding which coin to buy or which is best between 2 or 3 items. Published annually I can determine if the interest is up or down from last year. Sincerely, Danny Kolibas

Great help and very complete. I love this book. The only thing wrong it very hard to see and slow to find items quickly. They should make it available on DVD for quick and easy use on computer for coin collector with poor vision.

Invaluable for the beginner and advanced U.S coin collector. These are the minimum prices you can expect to pay for most U.S. coins in various conditions. Also the book is loaded with helpful historical information and the pictures are beautiful. A must have for every Numismatist and Numismatist to be.
