This review is from: The Guide to Brush-McCoy Pottery (Book and Price Guide) (Hardcover)
This is the second book on identifying Bush Mccoy Pottery that I own. I was very disappointed with The Collector's Encyclopedia of Brush-McCoy Pottery: Updated Values. However, this book is a vast improvement. For one thing it offers information such as why some glazes changed in appearance after the start of World War Two and the history of the different bottom finishes one might find on similar pieces of pottery-- the ones with the glaze ground flat on the bottom are older.
While I still feel that the The Collector's Encyclopedia of Niloak: A Reference and Value Guide (Collector's Encyclopedia of Niloak) book is the gold standard for this type of Guide, this is a very useful book to have around. |
