More About the Author
Atop Mount Marcy, my husband and I had a conversion experience; we gave up our previous pursuits and began mountain climbing throughout the Northeast. We climbed 97 of the Northeast High Peaks in winter and wrote Catskill Day Hikes, Catskill Peak Experiences, Adirondack Peak Experiences, Women with Altitude, Catskill Trails, and the future New England Peak Experiences (see Carol Stone White and Carol and David White.) We're active in the Adirondack Mountain Club, Catskill 3500 Club, and Carol was an Adirondack 46ers executive board member from 2003-2007. We've climbed eight Colorado peaks exceeding 14,000 feet. Carol received the Susan B. Anthony Legacy Award with polar explorer Ann Bancroft and long-distance cold-water swimmer Lynne Cox in 2007 at the University of Rochester. Visit www.carolwhite.org
