Revised Second Editions: The Best Colorado Wildflower Guides, March 14, 2011
This review is from: Guide To Colorado Wildflowers Vol 1: Plains and Foothills (Paperback)
Volume 1 (Plains and Foothills) and Volume 2 (Mountains) comprise the best books on this topic -- particularly in the Revised 2nd Editions which have coverage of 75 more plants (for a grand a total of 700!)
These are well-organized books with terrific illustrations with photographic illustrations of the blooms and expressive watercolors of the plants. The flowers here are organized by color which I initially thought was an odd way to do things, but has proved marvelous. And, as you would expect, there are multiple indices and introductory materials that allow you to navigate the books.
Because these books come from Westcliffe, the quality of the paper, the colors, and the binding are first rate. There are chunky, solid paperbacks which can be carried into the field but aren't tiny little field guides -- a perfect compromise.

Highly recommend, June 24, 2009

Very well laid out. Don't need a degree in Botany to easily identify plants and flowers.
