This book catalogs the history of Guide Dogs for the Blind, Inc., the largest school of its kind in the country providing free services and receiving no government funding. From its humble beginnings in 1942, when it originated to assist Veterans blinded in WWII, the book traces the efforts of hundreds of people who have worked to establish the exemplary program that exists today.
