This sleeping bag is absolutely wonderful ! I camp and it gets pretty cold at night and in the morning. This sleeping bag is extremely warm and you feel cozy and secure in it. 1.0 out of 5 stars GINORMOUS
This bag is HUGER than HUGE. Definitely warm and cozy, but crammed into its stuff sack this thing was at least 7lbs, 16" thick by 22" tall. There's no way you could carry this thing anywhere more than 10' away from your car without it being it's own trip. The seller (Sportsman's Guide) did not refund shipping even though there is nothing in the description to indicate...

I was going to get a duffle bag to put it in because it was so very difficult to fit the sleeping bag back in the bag it came in. This wonderful lady at a sporting goods store showed me how to do it. You don't roll it to put it in there....you stuff it it. AND IT WORKED BEAUTIFULLY! She really knew her stuff as she was a camper also. So don't roll it in there because it was put in there with a machine.....need I say more? JUST STUFF IT and it takes a few seconds to do it. Wonderful product. I highly recommend it! A+ A+ A+ A+, Thank You.

5.0 out of 5 stars too hot?, November 4, 2007

If you are looking for max warmth in a non-mummy bag, this is your unit.
I camp in the mountains where its cold and damp (30s to teens )and have a hard time keeping warm. Not in this baby. Its smoking hot, nice and soft with good quality zippers and workmanship. Only gripe is that it is nearly impossible to get it back into the bag it comes with. Suggest you get a big duffle otherwise you'll be frustrated repacking it. Its also pretty darn heavy but well worth it to stay warm. I am buying another asap as I gave this one as a much appreciated gift after I tried it out.
It would work well as a 3 season bag but is way too hot for summer use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, November 18, 2008
This review is from: Guide Gear Minus 15 Degrees Sleeping Bag Green (Misc.)
I recently purchased two of these for my new wife and I to take on our camping honeymoon in the Southwest US.

The trip was in October and the temps got into the low teens at night and the bag was quite comfortable. I would recommend wearing heavy socks in low temps, because my feet got cold on a couple of nights (with light socks).

We bought non-mummy bags so we could zip them together (it was our honeymoon!!), but I don't recommend this. It really increases the cold spots.

When zipped up as one bag, and the hood drawn you should be comfortable down in the teens with long underwear and socks. I wouldn't make other plans if going on a trip where 15 degree or below weather is predicted.

The weather rating on most bags is SURVIVABILITY not COMFORT.

My daughter is in the Navy, stationed on an aircraft carrier. The average nighttime temperature in the berthing areas is about 40 degrees! No matter how many blankets she used, she couldn't stay warm. I bought this sleeping bag for her, and now she is toasty! The sleeping bag is oversized, and so thick, it looks like someone is in it even when empty! Warm, soft, fluffy - perfect!

5.0 out of 5 stars Super warm sleeping bag, July 7, 2008
This review is from: Guide Gear Minus 15 Degrees Sleeping Bag Green (Misc.)
Update to my original review: Ok, I took this bag to Burning Man where I have been cold 4 out of the 5 years I've been there. If you tend towards being cold, this sleeping bag is absolutely for you. I slept like a baby and I'm bringing it again with me this year with no reservations. I've used it several times since and not a breath of cold air disturbed me. This sleeping bag is the bomb.

I haven't tried this bag out camping yet but I did try it out in a cold and drafty room and found I was too hot and needed to unzip in the night (perfect for a cold person like me). It unzips easily to make a blanket and the zipper appears sturdy. It's bulky but I was able to get it back into its bag fairly easily. In the bag it's fatter and almost as long as my 4-person tent in its tent bag. But for car camping, should be no problem.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Sleeping Bag Ever Made, November 22, 2010

I bought this bag last year. In the past, I've been someone who shivers in just about any kind of sleeping bag. I've owned some fancy sleeping bags trying to solve this problem by throwing money at it. Absolutely not necessary, this is the best bag! On a recent trip, my friends were talking unanimosly about how they were cold in their tents during the night and there was some heavy frost going. I slept out in this bag, no tent necessary. I woke up warm after a cozy night, sat up, and looked at the outside of this bag. Despite it being covered in frost, I had slept soundly and felt quite warm. Amazing. One downside is that it is huge even when packed down, so really good for car camping or that sort of thing. I find I don't have to take a lot for a pillow or sleeping pad though, it is very cushy on its own, so makes up for some of the space. I'm back to buy an extra in case mine ever wears out and one for my friend for Christmas.

I'm a cold person. I'm always cold. Even on a hot summer night, I will wake up at some point... cold. I have lived with this my entire life. Not anymore. This is the warmest sleeping bag I have ever used. I use it regularly, even in my normal bed. This is a quality made sleeping bag, it's big, it's thick, it's warm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works as described!, April 16, 2010

Awesome sleeping bag. VERY large, and the bag with it in it is very bulky. This is not a sleeping bag for hikers by any means. It is a large, comfortable, leisurely and warm sleeping bag. I have used it both in the winter months and now as we get in to spring and the warm months. It is VERY warm, but if you keep the flap open during the warm days its not hot and just comfy. Very durable, stays relatively clean aslong as you don't get stuff inside it, then it becomes a pain to clean. All in all a very cheap, durable, excellent quality sleeping bag. Will buy Guide Gear again.

I took my sleeping bag with me when i went on a ten day tour of the midwest with a friend on our motorcycles. i used it to sleep under the stars in the states of texas, nebraska, wyoming and utah. it was so comfortable. it was so padded that i didn't feel the gravel underneath me when i slept just outside yellowstone park, just north of gardiner where it was very very cold. i really recommend this product because it's great for cold, very cold, and surprisingly - even warm nights. i give it a thumbs up; couldn't be happier with it.

sincerely,
julius willis

4.0 out of 5 stars I am so grateful for my sleeping Bag, November 2, 2010

I will tell you real fast my story. I bought this because we were going camping for three weeks in sub zero conditions and tons of wind. My companion crew was laughing at my sleeping bag when they saw it because it is a little bulky. They were making all sorts of jokes. Of course joke was on them when they saw it perform.
Because of a typo on my behalf I got 2 instead of 1, one of the guys bought it right away when he tried it.
The sleep is so cozy. It just changes the entire sleeping under the stars event. I use it often and still very satisfied. Of course as soon as we got back two of my friends logged into amazon to get theirs. :) and they recommend it to everyone. It does get a little humid on the outside but that never penetrates to the inside and it dries fast I've been told that it is normal because of weather conditions and all sleeping bags get that. Hope this helps
