These 2400s, by comparison, are good for about 3 hrs in temps down to 20 degrees before cold sets in, but feel 2x the weight and are so bulky they are clumsy on the hike in, and make climbing into a tree stand outright dangerous. In snow of any depth, they make you have to sort of waddle like you have snowshoes on your feet. Tires you out quick!
Suffice to say, they're not THAT warm, and super heavy/bulky (altho mine are well made and still waterproof after 3 seasons.)They are sized correctly and seem to be medium width. I usually wear a shoe size 12, and bought these in size 12s and they fit fine w/ 1-2 pairs of wool socks depending on thickness.
You're better off with the 1000s or better yet, a pair of pac boots. No matter how much thinsulate a rubber boot has, it's still going to let cold in from the soles.
