This glove keeps me warm on the ski slopes when the temperature is as low as approximately 15 degrees. My hands typically get very cold and I have always had to wear mittens. With this glove, except for the most extreme cold days, I can stay warm in these gloves. Keep in mind though, they have limited flexibility because of the added insulation but that's the trade off for a warm glove. Be sure to size them correctly and err on the side of purchasing them on the roomier size rather than smaller as they could be hard to get into if they are on the small size.

Great glove, fits well, warm and waterproof. Why not 5 stars? Could use tethers, like most expensive gloves have, so that you won't lose them on the lift if you slip them off (I made my own) and it would be nice to have a strap on the back to attach a goggle wipe or handkerchief. (You can do this on the cheap with a large rubber band.)

I am very disappointed with this gloves. I purchase this gloves for skiing, and it feel stiff, restrictive and clumpsy. Thick two layer glove might be suited for Arctic condition, but not for active sport like skiing.

A backwards design if there ever was one,

When it comes to jackets, combining a hardshell jacket with a fleece or insulating layer is a common occurrence. The hardshell jacket is both waterproof and windproof and the insulating layer provides warmth.Black Diamond, in creating their guide glove, managed to screw this up in what can only be described as a backwards design. Though the Black Diamond Guide Glove is sold as a shell glove, the shell itself doesn't have the Gore-Tex membrane. It's the inner insulating glove that has the Gore-Tex membrane. Because of this backwards design, the shell glove is useless on its own in wet conditions and you can't ever upgrade the inner liner with something warmer unless it's also waterproof (which isn't a feature you're likely to find in a liner glove). Look elsewhere if you need a serious shell glove system.
