Easy to read, comprehensive, March 17, 2011
This review is from: Guide to Health Informatics (Paperback)
I used this for an MSc in Health Informatics, and later to design a course I taught myself. It is very easy to read, and clearly written. The author is an internationally recognised expert in the area. The chapters are short enough that you don't get swamped with detail, but long enough to include adequate information.
The only drawback is that it needs updating by now - this is a rapidly changing area. But if you are looking for an introduction to informatics, this is the best book I have seen.

Badly written text, December 8, 2010
This review is from: Guide to Health Informatics (Paperback)
This was the text recommended in a course I was taking. Simply the worst textbook I've ever read. Poor sentence structure and convoluted explanations- the editors need to really be reexamined if they decided a new edition again.
Terrible- There are plenty of better texts out there that cover the same material- I suggest find you them!
