A unique book on the subject,

The book was written before the internet era. Nevertheless, it was the first tentative to produce a comprehensive catalog of the genealogical resources available in Israel. Much of it is still very relevant (although not complete) ten years after its publication. It is written very clearly and is a very valuable asset for all researchers. Unfortunately, it lacks an index of towns and of names. A companion update of the addresses and phone numbers can be found online at www.isragen.org.il/BIB/JGR/jgrMain.htm

This is an indispensible guide for genealogists doing researchin Israel. Some of the phone numbers are out of date, but the newnumbers are available on-line.
