This is my new standard reference for voice types, arias, composers, and so forth in the standard operatic repertoire. I wish I had the same type of reference for the concert repertoire. It's expensive, but I'm glad I bit the bullet and bought it. I wish my agent had one (and might buy one for him as a gift).

A great reference for choosing rep especially if a student or just getting to know your fach

I have read this book three or four times cover to cover. However, I go back to it frequently when I am a little down or looking for something to chuckle about. I am never disappointed. I am looking forward to the next book.I have also sent it as a gift to a couple of people who are now ardent perusers.

I needed this out-of-print book for a holiday gift to my singer son. Priority shipping options were not clear, and the book needed to cross the country, from California to Maryland. Happily, it arrived on December 23. So, after some anxiety all turned out well.
