About the Author
LaDonna D. Vick is the publisher of Mommy's@Work (MAW), "Your Online Home Business Resource Place," an online magazine providing resources for moms and dads who want to start a home business. She is the author of three home business booklets and the newly released e-book, "Your Guide to Operating a Computer-Based Business At Little or No Cost!". She earned her bachelors degree in business administration from the University of LaVerne, CA and has been in the home business industry since 1992. She is now a freelance writer and owns an independent publishing company, TiaZar Publishing. She wrote and self-published three booklets: "Tax Tips For Your Home Business," "Developing a Business Plan For Your Home/Small Business," and "How To Start a Home Business in Six Easy Steps." She has contributed to some of the major E-zines, sites, and publications on the Internet including DEMCs E-Mag, Business@Home, Independent Wife Magazine, Digital-Women, Ideamarketers, Hearts At Home Magazine, Family Corner, and Bizymoms. She is also quoted in the book "101 Best Home-Business Success Secrets For Women" by Priscilla Y. Huff released in 1999, and her website was mentioned on ABC News Channel 7 (Chicago) as a home business resource for work at home moms.

The author has put her heart and soul into this amazing book which covers just about everything you need to know to start a home business! In all my years reviewing books, I have never come across one so packed with useful information on this topic. Although the subject matter is very broad, Vick breaks each topic down into manageable subjects offering insight and wisdom within each one. Establishing the legal status of your business is an important first step and the options are explained very well. Of course, being an accountant myself, I was very interested in the chapter on business taxes which proved to be comprehensive and easy to read. With the internet offering endless possibility for the business world, a large section of the book is dedicated to website strategies and promotion. Vick has obviously done her homework and compiled extensive resources for free website hosting, free internet access and free website submission services which provide an affordable way to get your business off the ground. Profiles from successful professionals have been included offering both advice and encouragement as you enter this realm. A fabulous book at an incredible price! I definitely recommend reading this book if you are considering the idea of working at home. You will not be disappointed!

LaDonna, your book has many excellent free and cost-effective resources for anyone who is thinking about starting up an Internet business that it would be a shame for those starting out on the Internet to NOT read this book! The information is top-notch and the computer-based business profiles demonstrate how successful any Internet idea can become with use of the right tools and strategies. We find ourselves continuously using it for new promotional ideas...thanks LaDonna!
