More About the Author

Joyce Farrell was formerly a Professor of Computer Information Systems at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois. Prior to joining Harper College, Farrell taught Computer Information Systems at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and McHenry County College in Crystal Lake, Illinois. She is the author of many Programming books for Course Technology, a part of Cengage Learning[1]. Her books are widely used as textbooks in higher education institutions.

"When I write my books I use the same language, examples, analogies, and entertaining exercises that made my class sessions fun and made the lessons stick. I was always thrilled when former students would return for a visit and tell me how they were able to solve problems at their new jobs when others were stumped because of the thorough programming backgrounds they got in my courses." -Joyce Farrell

5.0 out of 5 stars The best introduction book, March 30, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: A Guide to Programming Logic and Design - Comprehensive (Paperback)
This could be the most comprehensive book which introduces the readers to programming logic and design. It should be the first choice of beginners learning logic and design, and a reference for the pro.

4.0 out of 5 stars Basics of programming, August 19, 2001
This review is from: A Guide to Programming Logic and Design - Comprehensive (Paperback)
I purchased this book as a requirement for my introductory programming course and it provided me with an excellent basis for the structures of programming.

It is a great book for beginning programmers to keep and refer back to from time to time. It is pretty basic for anyone other than a beginner though.

I bought this book couple of months ago, and I finished now.
Absolutely is a great book for someone doesn't have programming background. And I suggest to get object oriented programming using C++ second edition by this author.
