Onward and Upward,
This review is from: Guide For the Senior Corps (Spiral-bound)
At the best of times, aging is not easy and this handy guide to the "where and what-fors" is almost essential. Planing your next trip to the doctor, knowing what to eat, and the whys our body goes through as it ages gives one a sense of comfort. When your parents aren't around to ask the pertinent questions about aging, this book is like having a good friend at the elbow to calm one during moments of dis-ease. I'm grateful for the advice and the organization and know my friends will also be grateful for the advice shared within "Guide for the Senior Corps.".

Aging Made Simple,

This review is from: Guide For the Senior Corps (Spiral-bound)
This book offers an at-a-glance perspective on how to age gracefully. It's easy to obtain information about everything from how the body ages to how to work with the aging process. The illustrations and graphs make the information easy to understand, and I especially appreciate how the book is layed out to cross reference illustrations with facts. Toy's book offers a wholistic guide for the senior corps. She intelligently addresses the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of aging.
I highly recommend this book for everyone who intends to live life to the fullest and grow old with grace and elegance.

Excellent Resource for Elders and their families,
By Kathy (Cambridge, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Guide For the Senior Corps (Spiral-bound)
Guide for Senior Corps is the most comprehensive and compact resource book for elders and their family members that I have read to date. As the Executive Director of a nonprofit organization serving elders who wish to remain living in their homes a longs as possible I would highly recommend this book. It covers a wide spectrum of topics in great detail and is a simple straightforward read. If you could only have one book on your shelf to guide you through this stage of life Guide for the Senior Corps would be the one to have.

This is a GREAT book --- a small introduction to all kinds of information useful to those of us in the midst of accommodating ourselves to the 'golden years' of advancing age. It gives pointers first of all, on health, exercise, good nutrition, and where and how to get help.It also includes sample forms to help sift through necessary legal forms that are essential to living well -- health proxies, wills, etc. It is concise, inexpensive and easy to use. The 'ballet figures' giving information on exercise are worth the $15 price in and of itself. HURRAH for TOY LASKER. She has done it again....First she gave us the Flashmaps series -- simplified guidebooks to major cities --- and now, she is mapping out a strategy to face 'elder stateman status' with dignity, good humor -- health and eternal optimism. A good offense is the best defense. Thanks Toy -- again.
