About the Author

Dr. Mark Norman is a Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne. His research interests include the biology, behaviour and evolution of cephalopods, from pygmy octopuses to giant squid. His work on octopuses is supported by the Australian Biological Resources Study.

Dr. Amanda Reid is a taxonomist with a particular interest in cuttlefish, and is currently revising the Australian representatives of that group. She also works on the taxonomy of an unrelated group of animals, the Onychorphora or velvet worms.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous field guide, authoritative, March 19, 2006

This review is from: A Guide to Squid, Cuttlefish and Octopuses of Australasia (Paperback)
This gorgeous field guide is a compact size, and has lots of photos of squid, cuttlefish and octopuses, plus lots of interesting information. Although it concentrates in the Australia region, many of the species have much wider ranges so it is usefull outside that area as well. The authors are experts on these animals.
