4.0 out of 5 stars A Highly Recommended Book for Tubists, January 28, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Guide to the Tuba Repertoire, Second Edition: The New Tuba Source Book (Indiana Repertoire Guides) (Hardcover)
I have been studying tuba and bass trombone for roughly nine years. By no means do I consider myself a professional. I appreciate the level of focus and mental exercise it requires to play both. Additionally, I enjoy picking up my horns to play. This book served as a very great tool for me. Embedded in this thick monster are thousands of pieces for tuba ranging from the solo repertoire of the horn, to the discology to which they some pieces can be found. I approach this book as a way to expand my knowledge on the tuba. The pieces and tracks documented have given me the ability to expand as a performer.

I must note that this particulate edition does NOT include several sections of the original edition including maintenance, history, and graphic excerpts. Upon finding this out, I was a little disappointed. However, I recommend this book, and it's predecessor for the serious tuba player.
